IRB approval must be obtained before any recruitment or screening can take place.

Requesting information about Stanford students from the Registrar's Office 
If you plan to request email addresses, biographic/demographic data, or academic data on Stanford students from the Registrar's Office as part of your research, email the Director of Institutional Research for information regarding the process to obtain these data before you submit your protocol application to the IRB.
